Our beautiful Arzu throw is distinguished by its use of the traditional small diamond weave; an indispensable part of traditional and historic Turkish textile design for centuries. Made from fine-grade 100% Turkish cotton that creates a relaxed but dense structure, the Arzu throw feels especially soft and drapes beautifully. Our Arzu throw comes in contrasting colours of mustard & cream, which create dimension and texture.
Woven by artisans on semi-automatic looms, each tassel is carefully twisted and knotted by hand. Our blankets and throws or pike (pee-kay) as they are called in Turkey, are a great accessory for the home. The beautifully soft cotton makes it a perfect sofa throw, wrap it around you and snuggle down on cold winter days, and it's big enough to cover a king size bed.
So, what makes our Arzu blanket & throw so special?
In the early stages of developing Pazaar, we visited Buldan to meet with the textile weavers we would be working with. Buldan is a town and a district of Denizli Province in the inner Aegean Region of Turkey. Historically, the town has been a very important centre of Turkey's textile industry, where many generations of families made peshtemals and pike (throws) in their own style, a tradition that continues to this day.
The Turkish cotton they use for weaving our Arzu throws is a long fibre cotton grown in the Aegean Region. It has extra long fibres which means that when the yarn is spun, there are fewer joins. This results in stronger and smoother threads.

Important information
Because our Turkish throws are hand woven you may occasionally find tiny thread pulls and knots in the fabric. This is because during the weaving process threads sometimes catch in the loom and the weavers simply snip the loop and then either push the loose threads back into the weave or knot them up. At Pazaar we think this all adds to the character and uniqueness of each of our throws….no one throw is the same as the other. We endeavour to check all our products before we send them out to customers, but very occasionally a little knot or pulled thread will slip by us. If this happens and you want to return or exchange your throw this is absolutely fine. Please read through the Pazaar Returns Guidance here and we will be more than happy to exchange your throw.
